Hey Everyone 4/24/11

Today my blog is about friends helping friends – how many times we say we are friends and we will help whenever necessary or to the best of our abilities?

What is the definition of friend: A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts. 2. A person whom one knows; an acquaintance. 3. A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause...

What is the definition of friendship: Friendship is the cooperative and supportive relationship between people. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, esteem, affection, and respect along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. ...

Now that we know the meaning of friends – friendship, how many of us truly meet this criteria in our current relationships? The words that come to mind in the definition are ally, support and respect.

I can say I have friends but out of those friends who will be the one that will come to my aid or follow my instructions when someone needs help. Every one of us needs to feel that we have someone we can rely on when the need arises.

A lot of us say we are friends but do we actually show it or do we listen to scuttle butt and continue the cycle of blasting a friend for something or do we just say the buck stops here. Are we jealous because someone is trying to do something for themselves to better their environment or their happiness – we need to step back and see what our underlying feelings about this person really is. Some of us know who our true friends are because they are the ones that will always rally with us no matter what anyone says, however if you disrespect that relationship do not expect it to continue. I just needed to say this before continuing this blog so that everyone would know where I am going with this.

Facebook is one of the biggest social networks around today and yes we have many friends all around the world. Some we know personally and some are friends of friends and we all have the same interest or social networks.

Many of us have the same friends and sometimes when there is a fundraiser or a cause we sometimes do not show our help or commitment to a person because we may not know them well or we just don’t think their endeavours are worth our time. This is where I disagree – have we taken the time to see what it’s all about? Have we taken the time to find out what is the reason for this request? Have we been a friend and found out why this person is doing it and say hey I can help. I think not and shame on you – if you are a friend or a friend of a friend – in your heart you know what’s right don’t let your pride get in the way of helping someone because somewhere in your life someone helped you when you were down and they did not ask for anything in return.

I hope in my life time that I have touched someone and helped and know that I will be remembered for that very reason, but on to my quest with this blog:

Our friends in Japan have taken a very hard hit in life with the earthquake and tsunami and there are many organizations that are taking donations for them if you could spare a few dollars to help them please do. The dart community has a special website that takes donations that will go to fellow dart players who were at the Sendai tournament when the tsunami hit and you can listen to the ordeals of some of the players that survive at this website:

Another organization that is collecting old shoes and selling t-shirts to help the people in Japan is: http://www.sickkicks.bigcartel.com/

Prilosec is running a campaign to help people in the community with their passion – this is a contest where candidates show their personalities and passion for what they love to do and anyone can enter to get votes. They are going to give you help with chasing your dreams instead of selling your accomplishment they are endorsing you to help you achieve your accomplishments. This is something new where has it been that any company will take on a person who was not already been established. I like this concept because it can help those that want to help themselves by promoting themselves. Many of us during this time of job lay offs and cutbacks need the extra funding to get to where we want to be.

When you read some of these candidates passion – you may be inspired to say Hey I can do this or you may say shoots!! I can support this person!! Come on it doesn’t cost anything except your time and I sure that you can spend a few seconds a day to vote for these people all you need to do is register and click on vote.

Our own Kyle K is one of the candidates so in the honor of friendship vote for him: http://www.officialsponsor.com/applications/view/11904   or go to the wiget www.jojera.com and click on vote this way you can use your smart phone go to the website, no registering. If you want to read profile you must go to the website using the link above in red.

These are a few others that I thought should be deserving of our votes:

http://www.officialsponsor.com/applications/view/12681  Jason - Pitmaster he trying to get his BBQ sauce marketed – maybe he might give us some samples or we may see it in the markets

http://www.officialsponsor.com/applications/view/11948 Nigel - Star Gazer he needs help with tuition to follow his dreams while working full time.

http://www.officialsponsor.com/applications/view/8624 Steven - Cancer Fundraiser his passion is racing and he uses his racing as a fundraiser for cancer.

These are just a few of the many candidates who have special needs in order to reach there goals – just a minute of your time can mean a lot to them.

Thank you for reading my blogs

Aloha All
